Description
On Saturday, March 8th, we’ll welcome four techno champions for a unique evening of art and experimentation.
In the main room, Mike Parker, Neel and .VRIL will perform a world-premiere live jam session, targeting 5 hours of hardware-based improvisation. Each performer stands as a foundational voice in their respective sub-genres; playing live together for the first time, they will showcase a once-in-a-lifetime testament to all faces of contemporary electronic music. This ambitious project took over 6 months to organize and will stand as a historic, one-time performance exclusive to Endzeit.
Arguably the most influential techno producer of the 21st century, Mike Parker’s work is best understood by diving into his debut album, Dispatches, released back in 2001. His unmistakable approach to synthesis remains strikingly relevant 24 years later: Parker-esque soundscapes continue to shape Endzeit DJ sets as well as most reputable dancefloors around the world. His recent output on Token, Tresor, Semantica, Spazio Disponibile and Geophone further cements his position as a legendary – yet elusive – figure in avantgarde techno. Only a handful of artists can claim to have invented a new sonic vocabulary; thus we find that Parker's work functions as a form of musical semiotics, with synthesizers acting as distinctive signals in contemporary techno language.
Mike will be joined in the live jam by Endzeit mainstays Neel (his masterful Movimento EP, debuted at Endzeit last July, remains one of our favorite releases of 2024) and .VRIL (his recent Saturn is a Supercomputer is a wild journey showcasing his range and expressivity).
In the second room, we’re thrilled to welcome Berlin-based techno extraordinaire Mary Yuzovskaya. For her Endzeit debut, Mary will curate a meticulous 3-hour vinyl journey; to get in the mood, we recommend her recent podcast on Reclaim Your City, as well as her acclaimed Monument appearance. As founder of Monday Off Records and former resident of NYC's beloved Unter, Yuzovskaya has cultivated a singular approach to vinyl performance that prioritizes narrative depth over immediate gratification. Her production output on Semantica, Attic and her own Monday Off further demonstrates a research of expressivity beyond functionality: Mary’s music unfolds as a carefully orchestrated exploration of texture and space, drawing from two decades of immersion in both European and American underground scenes.
Further support by your trusted Endzeit residents Kudeki, Sentient and Monosym.
