Description
Sizzla Kalonji is a leading force in conscious reggae and dancehall. Emerging in the late 1990s, Sizzla revitalized dancehall by infusing it with the musical and spiritual essence of roots reggae and Rastafarian themes.
Born Miguel Collins on April 17, 1976, in St. Mary, Jamaica, he grew up in August Town, closely observing the 1980s dancehall explosion. Sizzla began his music career in his early teens, honing his vocal skills and gaining recognition performing with Caveman Hi-Fi sound system. His first single was released in 1995 under the Zagalou label, followed by collaborations with renowned producer Fattis “Exterminator” Burrell, propelling him to international acclaim.
Opening the night is Marlon Asher, best known for his reggae anthem Ganja Farmer. Don't miss this powerful evening of authentic reggae and dancehall vibes at the Bandshell!
