Description
Published in 2022, A Quick Ting On: Afrobeats is the first book of its kind that chronicles the social and cultural development of the eponymous music genre, tracing its rich history from the African continent all the way to the musical centre of the Western world.
Christian Adofo, a London-based prolific writer and culture curator, takes his debut book across the pond for an engaging and interactive conversation with culture journalist, Antoinette Isama. Join us as we weave a curation of records with Christian’s findings that explore how Afrobeats and its sub-genres have provided new articulations of Black identity and pride through its pioneers and cultural moments.
Copies of A Quick Ting On: Afrobeats will be available for sale, with a book signing following the conversation.
