Description
Some DJs have styles so distinct that they feel too large to contain in the booth, building contagious energy that can’t help but sweep up the dancefloor. This lineup features quite a few of them.
Brooklyn’s own Rose Kourts has developed a reputation for high-energy, grooving house and techno, accompanied by bombastic joy and excitement for the craft. Her opening set is sure to reach peak heights before Martyn Bootyspoon takes over, a DJ and producer known for “raunchy house and digital slick club” – expect an upbeat frenzy.
The energy stays electric with newly minted Nowadays resident MORENXXX. With roots in Chicago’s underground, MORENXXX combines rapturous percussion with ethereal intensity, sure to produce a euphoric sunrise victory lap for the well-worn nighttime crowd and a joyous awakening for the early morning’s next wave. NYC to Berlin icon and multimedia artist Juliana Huxtable takes over next, pushing the art of DJing to its limits and keeping the dancefloor on its toes. Her own party is called Shock Value, and with good reason – Juliana’s approach is anything but predictable.
Olof Dreijer of The Knife joins us after a postponed appearance last spring. The Swedish artist has been bringing a fun, colorful approach to DJing since he started playing local school parties in 1998. His DJ sets today are a reflection of decades of collecting, dancing, and creating – featuring “all kinds of grooves he likes to dance to himself, ranging from funky Techno and melodic house to Baile Funk and Batida.”
Then, it’s Nowadays residents and Coloring Lessons founders MUSCLECARS with their signature sultry style, fusing house, disco, jazz, soul, R&B, and beyond. MUSCLECARS have played many a winter Sunday evening at Nowadays, and their style feels perfectly matched to the last rays of sunlight peeking through the steamy windows.
Closing things out is the legendary Ron Trent, considered one of the architects of Chicago’s dance music scene. Trent started collecting and studying records in the 70s, taking cues from his father who ran a record pool, and went on to found the highly influential deep house imprint Prescription Records, experimental label Electric Blue Recordings, Future Vision Records, and Music and Power. He’s brought his signature style to decks around the world, and we couldn’t be more excited for his Nowadays debut.

An RSVP is good for one person. If you're bringing friends, please have them RSVP here as well.
We stop taking RSVPs at 6pm on the day of the party. In order to receive the RSVP discount, you must be at the ticket desk by the cutoff time and not just in line. It's wise to arrive early to make sure you're not standing in line when the time comes.
An RSVP does not guarantee entry. Sometimes parties do sell out, so if you want to be sure you'll get in, it's best to grab a ticket in advance.

Entry is at the discretion of our door staff. Online purchases are limited to four tickets maximum per person. If tickets are sold out here, we always hold a good amount at the door. We will do our best to admit those without tickets but entrance is not guaranteed.
