Felton Music Hall Presents:
AMERICANA NIGHT WITH THE DIRT RAKERS & MORE!
Them “Dirt Rakers” are hosting their 5th “Americana Night” at Felton Music Hall , Saturday January 25th from 7:30 – 10:30
MICHAEL GAITHER and His New Best Friends
Award-winning Americana songwriter Michael Gaither takes the “write what you know” idea to heart. A Santa Cruz native, he brings tunes that showcase both the nostalgia of small-town life and the foibles of modern technology, always with plenty of humor in the mix. (In a previous life, he had a narrow brush with standup comedy.)
As always, Michael is joined by His New Best Friends ensemble, which features ill Walker on lead guitar, Eliza James on harmony vocals, and Greg Abelar on bass. They'll do a mix of Michael's originals along with tasty covers from artists who've influenced them.

WINDY HILL
Formed in 2008 by a couple of high school friends from the Bay Area, Windy Hill has covered a lot of ground in 10 years, performing all over the western states and recording four albums.
While the band is steeped in the traditional style, they've cultivated their own distinct bluegrass sound. The balance between their love for classic bluegrass and keenness for exploring fresh musical ideas defines their style and approach, and makes them a fan-favorite for music lovers of all types.
Three-part harmony, lonesome duets, banjo breakdowns, honky-tonk sorrow, blues mandolin, and original material all combine to create their vision for bluegrass music and its future.
They’ve won numerous awards, performed at festivals, venues, and bars across the west coast, and released four albums.

A little about the hosting Band :
DIRT RAKERS:
The Dirt Rakers are an Americana (Santa Cruz mountains honey jar Americana) band featuring Erik Rozite (guitar and vocals), Jayne Williams (mandolin and vocals), Jay Hansen (lead acoustic resonator guitar, slide), and Jojo Fox (bass and harmonies) Louisa Sandman (washboard). We're a home-brewed group out of the redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains, blending a high octane / cask-fermented feel, purdy harmonies, and a deep love of all rootsy genres of music. Rock, country, bluegrass, blues, jam band and folk all swirl together in our magical musical brew. We mix our original songs with some covers by anyone from Tom Petty, Wilco, Neil Young, and Devil Makes Three to old school tunes like Hank Williams, and The Carter Family … We're a bunch of good-time friends playing good-time music.
