w/ Dim Wit & SHANEA
Cay Is Okay’s long-awaited debut LP Housekeeping comes from years-long efforts across sociopolitical landscapes and personal growth milestones. Through rock with punk and pop elements, the album addresses the queer brown experience in a cishet white world through the lens of frontperson Cay Davis’s birth chart. ‘Housekeeping’ references the astrological houses as well as individual participation in the perpetuation/breaking of oppressive systems.
This album release night serves as a celebration of transformation; pain and questioning led to joy and clarity, isolation found community. Cay Is Okay will perform as a four-piece, joined for the evening by other PNW QTBIPOC-led projects: Portland’s Shanea and Freddie Lee Toyoda of Seattle, WA.
This album will be released through a pair of performances in recognition of our participation in the cycle of life and death. This show is the Death show to mark the project completion and to allow a new cycle to begin.
In effort to be accessible and inclusive, the artists request you wear a high-quality KN95/N95 mask. ASL interpretation will be provided.
