Working from his studio deep in the wilderness of California’s Mojave desert, his music, a unique amalgamation of global influences, presents an imposing total aesthetic that is all is own. Music Belongs To The Universe, his latest offering, to be released April 4th on Leaving Records forms a triptych with Georis’s recent releases Desert Mirror (2022) and Cloud Suites (2023). Composed over the same period, his crystalline, sunbleached keyboard improvisations are imbued with a weightlessness as spacious as the landscapes from which they were conjured. He once arranged and recorded his own take on A Rainbow In Curved Air and the influence of Terry Riley’s masterwork is obvious, but he’s no mere imitator and elsewhere his trance-like spells and invocations shimmer with a startling originality. Nico has shared marquees with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Leon Russel, Kikagaku Moyo, Scientist, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Ata Kak, Carlos Niño & others. His music was recently featured on Red Hot’s 2024 Transa compilation alongside Sade, Andre 3000, Sam Smith, Moses Sumney and many others.
