Secret Psychedelica is celebrating its 24th anniversary!! That's right, 24 years ago in May, the first Secret Psychedelica night was introduced as a psytrance monthly and went on a 6 year stretch at the Savoy in Santa Clara! After its consistent run in the South Bay, Secret Psychedelica morphed into one offs held at various venues in San Francisco and the occasional outdoor gathering in the Santa Cruz Mountains surrounded by redwoods. Coincidentally, May is the also the month that Secret Psychedelica found its current home at the DNA Lounge in 2021. Since then, Secret Psychedelica has not missed a beat, bringing in top notch international talent and the best local artists every month to keep the Bay Area's appetite for psytrance well-fed. In keeping with Secret Psychedelica's current zodiac themes and to commemorate the monumental occasion, Taurus producers Coral, Ironside, and a herd of local Taurus DJs have been rounded up to get things shaking! ! Coral is a national treasure in the US psytrance scene. Getting hooked by psychedelic trance in the late 90s, Coral embraced the joy she found in the genre and immediately began DJing. Her infectious energy and enthusiasm behind the decks led to performances around the globe. Yet, this was just the beginning as her love for psytrance turned towards the world of production. In 2012, Coral released her first EP and it's been a steady flow of epic full-on tracks since then on her home label SpaceWarp Records as well as Maharetta Records, Phantasm Records, and PsynOpticz Records. Taurus 2025 will also act as a launching point for Coral's summer appearances that include the legendary Ozora Festival in Hungary!! Expect an onslaught of new tunes when Coral returns to San Francisco for the first time since Taurus 2022! Ironside is a minimalistic psy-tech project formed by respected producers in the psytrance scene, Amer Badi and Ricardo Marques. Amer, also known as Dribble has crushed the dance floor at past Secret Psychedelica shows. Ricardo, an unstoppable force in Portugal's psytrance scene, produces tunes under the name Battousai. Their collaboration began in 2021 sparking a creative connection that would eventually lead to the creation of Ironside. The two are determined to create a new and thrilling audio experience as they continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of psychedelic infused techno music. Representing Opulent Temple, Billy Seal will get the stampede going in the psytrance room so be sure to arrive early for some sweet progressive grooves. The second room will feature a collection of Taurus DJs including the return of CaptHz and Corrine, longtime Secret Psychedelica resident Cascino, and the Secret Psychedelica debuts of Nicole Newsome and DJ Recognize. Get your party horns on and your dancing hoofs ready, it's time to celebrate the 24th anniversary of Secret Psychedelica, the Taurus way! !
