He first gained recognition in the early 2000s as part of the electronic music group, Major Lazer, alongside fellow DJ/producer, Switch. In 2004, Diplo founded the record label, Mad Decent, which has since become a platform for emerging artists in the dance music scene. Over the years, Diplo has collaborated with numerous high-profile artists, including M.I.A., Justin Bieber, Beyonce, and Sia and more. The DJ has been nominated for several Grammy Awards throughout his career, including Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album. He won his first Grammy Award in 2021 for Best Dance Recording for his collaboration with Dua Lipa on the track, "Don't Start Now."
