Description
Mikel Izal, is one of Spain’s most important singer-songwriters today, he is recognised for his participation in the group IZAL.
His foray into the world of professional music occurred at the age of 24, after his arrival in Madrid where he began to move in the singer-songwriter circuit, obtaining various awards as a composer, such as the Young Creators Contest of the Community of Madrid.
In 2010, Mikel Izal embarked on a new path by founding the IZAL group, together with Alberto Pérez, Iván Mella, Alejandro Jordá and Emanuel Pérez. The band positioned itself as a benchmark on the natiyonal pop-rock scene, carrying out massive tours in arenas and festivals, where they performed as headliners. Throughout their journey they have won prestigious awards and certifications, granting them gold records for the albums Copacabana (2015) and Hogar (2021) and a platinum record for Autoterapia (2018). Among Mikel Izal's notable compositions are anthems such as "La mujer de verde", "Qué bien", "El baile", "Copacabana", "Little great revolution" and "Pausa". In addition to his work with the band, Mikel Izal has composed songs for other artists and projects. In 2016, he created "Infinitos bailes" for the legendary artist Raphael, and in 2020 he composed the anthem for the centenary of the Deportivo Alavés football club.
In spring 2023 he began a new period of his career as a solo artist with release of the album “El miedo y el paraiso”, soon followed by an extensive tour that brings him to London to play an intimate concert at The Scala on Sunday 16th February 2025.
