On December 19, 2024 at the Variety Playhouse, Kevin Scott and an incomparable assemblage of A-Team players will join forces to present the Kevin Scott’s Funky Holiday Spectacular dance party. Featuring tunes ranging from James Brown and Otis Redding to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to Frank Zappa and Black Sabbath, and a few seasonal standards with just the right amount of holiday flavor, the band will usher in the holiday season with an uncompromising serving of funk and spunk. Kevin Scott’s Funky Holiday Spectacular includes band leader, Kevin Scott (Govt Mule, John McLaughlin, Col. Buce Hampton, Jimmy Herring), Mark Letieri (Snarky Puppy, The Fearless Flyers), Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic), Will Montgomery, Emil Werstler, Grant Greene Jr., Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio), Jontavious Willis, Mark Raudabaugh (Sierra Hull, Donna the Buffalo), Matt Slocum (Warren Haynes Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Railroad Earth), Rhett Huffman (American Aquarium), Jordon Shallop, Dan Wytanis (Ghost Note), Mark Rivers (Tedeschi Trucks Band), Brenda Moore, Amanda Joy, Tiffany White, and Ruby Velle, along with more very special guests to be announced. Kevin Scott’s Funky Holiday Spectacular is the holiday tradition that we need. Happy! Merry! Hark! and Funk!
Very Special mini-special guest sets will be led by Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Benji Shanks (Blackberry Smoke), and Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic).
The show will benefit The Georgia Music Foundation and Backline.
