Description
Babe Haven is a high-energy queer punk band that riots in Durham, NC. This lineup doesn’t just
push boundaries in their songs and on stage; they also challenge their audience to be active in
and outside of the pit. With a mission to elevate femme-presenting individuals, people of color,
and members of the LGBTQ+ community, they transform each show into a sanctuary of
empowerment and acceptance.
Babe Haven has been setting stages ablaze and selling out shows, quickly becoming an iconic
DIY staple of the Southeast. Their sound can be classified as early 00s nu-metal rebellion
meets riot grrrl sass – a sonic assault that grabs you by the ears and refuses to let go.
Babe Haven’s sophomore album - "Nuisance" - delivers a distinctive blend of nu metal, thrash,
and punk, resulting in a sound that is both unique and raw.
Written/recorded by Lillie Della Penna (vocals), Naomi Poesel (guitar), Julia Lynn (bass) and
Brendan Martini (drums) the fast-paced, hard-hitting tracks usher in an unmatched energy that
sets it apart in today's music scene.
Rain on Fridays embodies a unique blend of ambidexterity in their
music. It's the auditory equivalent of being both happy and sad, a
mix that can feel like punching your enemies in the face and then
kissing them goodnight – a Jawbreaker candy that you're only halfway
through. This three-piece alternative indie rock outfit from San
Diego has expertly woven influences from alternative, post-punk,
grunge rock, and indie to create music that truly vents.
The trio has crafted a sound as diverse as their city — a blend of
oceanic calm and desert storm. Their debut album, "Mono Monday,"
released in the summer of 2019, isn't just a collection of songs but
a journey through the growing pains and anxieties of life, offering
listeners a glimpse of silver linings amidst turmoil.
With their sophomore album slated for release in early 2024, and
tours of the West Coast and Southwest region, Rain on Fridays is not
only a band on the rise — it’s a crafting of a movement. Where their
sound travels, it carries with it a message of inclusivity,
unboundness, defiance, and transformation.
