Hosted by DJ and musician Steen, Open Decks is a creative and fun space where DJs can hang and share their house and techno music live. Hear your favorite or original tracks on Silo's front room sound system, a custom 15,000 watt Danley powerhouse. This edition of open decks will encourage local producers to show off their original tracks. Producers can use the first minute or two of their open decks slot to get on the mic and talk about their tracks, their creative process, and collaboration ideas. The full slot, including introduction, is still 12 minutes. This week's open decks is co-hosted by Exomoon, a NYC-based artist collective that is rapidly growing in the local underground music scene with a focus on house and techno. Originally founded as a techno record label, Exomoon expanded to host self-organized parties and collaborates with multiple Brooklyn venues. The collective has showcased numerous prominent artists in the New York scene, including JSMN, Martina Vesela, Simul, Waaablo, Donsky, and Krok, among others. Those that want to play should talk to Steen to sign-up. Sign-up is in person at the event only, slots are 12 minutes. We'll select names randomly from the sign-up list throughout the night.
