Accordion-wielding Chilean songstress Pascuala Ilabaca is a true hidden gem: A favorite on the strong and new scene of young Chilean singer-songwriters, her music is rooted in traditional sounds but effortlessly integrates shades of jazz, pop and rock, and influences gathered in such distant places as India or mExico. Accompanied by her formidable band Fauna, her unique stage presence conjures up sweetness and empowerment at the same time, setting her songs alive with both fragility and verve.
Pascuala Ilabaca & Fauna is one of the most important artists in Chile and Latin America. With 7 studio albums published and more than 15 international tours, he presents his most recent work entitled "La Curiosidad". A simple cumbia/salsa style that invites us to free ourselves from what oppresses us through the exercise of curiosity as the key to self-determination. Following this inspiration, the artist is preparing for international circulation in 2022 with tours of the USA, Canada and Europe under the name "La Curiosidad Tour 2022", celebrating 10 years of her first international tour. The Chilean artist invites us to meet again and discover her new music, which for the first half of 2022 also includes the release of a new album with songs that mix rhythms of popular festivals from Latin America with her characteristic accordion and brass sounds and a lyrical socially committed around feminism and social movements.
The Chilean artist Pascuala Ilabaca & Fauna announces the reactivation of her international agenda with tours of the USA, Canada and Europe for 2022. This announcement, which is preceded by the positioning of the artist in Latin America as a result of successful collaborations with renowned artists such as León Giecco , Pedro Aznar, Lila Downs and Susana Baca, arrives at a very prolific moment in his career. After her latest LP “El Mito de la Pérgola” (2018), Pascuala has given life to a series of audiovisual releases in which she explores new formats such as the EP “Amatoria” (2021), where the artist from Valparaíso, accompanied by a women's string quartet immerses itself in themes mainly of female empowerment, up to its most recent releases such as the cumbia/salsa of "La Curiosidad" and its latest social premiere entitled "Ya no estamos para mentiras". For 2022, the production of two new phonograms scheduled for the first and second semesters is included, in which the quintet once again explores the rhythms of popular festivals in Latin America, and in the second production, more eclectic sounds around rock , giving new signs that the artist cannot be pigeonholed into a specific musical style but rather into a kind of uncontrollable desire to explore music in its broad spectrum.
