With over 20 years in the game and countless classic releases, El-B is a pioneering UK garage and dubstep producer and DJ, known for his influential role in shaping the darker, bass-heavy side of UK garage that eventually led to the development of dubstep. He was part of the duo Groove Chronicles before embarking on a solo career, producing under his own name. El-B’s sound is characterized by sharp, syncopated drum patterns, dark basslines, and intricate use of percussion, often incorporating elements of jungle, breakbeat, and two-step rhythms. His work in the late 1990s and early 2000s laid much of the groundwork for dubstep, with tracks like "Buck & Bury" and "Stone Cold" being iconic examples of his unique style. He's known for his precision in production, often layering deep, atmospheric sounds with a heavy dose of rhythm and sub-bass. We're also inviting local UKG selector DJ Buck of Natural Selection for a guest support set alongside our residents DJ Staley & Nightware.
