Description
The Electric Grandmother: "The Electric Grandmother is the story of a couple and their lives, come together to make humorous, surreal, post-modern music and imagery. Inventors of the genre "Sitcom-Core." Purveyors of love and vulgarity. Washington DC is their home."
\--PLRLS (pronounced “Plurals”) is a new wave/post punk band out of Baltimore, Maryland. Started as a “low commitment” project by singer/guitarist Michael Bowen, PLRLS has been making colorful, angular music since 2011. Together with Jimbo Glass (guitar/vocals), Elena Fox (bass/vocals), and Sean Pumphrey (drums) the group has released three LPs, “Your Situation” (2015),“Have You Seen My Fancy Pony” (2017) and “Curses” (2023). PLRLS’ sound has been described as "Devo having a backyard pool party with the B-52s” (3Hive.com). They have shared bills with Shonen Knife, Shannon and the Clams, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Peelander-Z, Trans Am, NoBunny, J Roddy Walston, Kid Congo Powers, and The Gooch Palms. The band’s LPs have gotten airplay on WSUM (Madison, WI), WTMD (Baltimore, MD), WPRP (Portland, OR), WLOY (Baltimore, MD), WZBC (Boston, MA) and WLUW (Chicago, IL), where they were also interviewed on the Razor and Die show. PLRLS has also been in frequent rotation on The Rodney Bingenheimer Show on SiriusXM.
