**Juanita Pickens** has been a beloved bartender in East Austin for over 8 years, serving up more than just drinks - she's offered friendship, a listening ear, and a welcoming smile to to so many in our community. As a loving daughter, devoted dog mom, and a loyal friend, she's become a true pillar in East Austin's nightlife. Now, after years of serving others, it's time for us to serve her. A few years ago, Juanita lost her father and fought a tough financial battle to keep the home he left her, a battle she ultimately lost. She thought her hardest days were behind her, but this August, she receieved devastating news: she's been diagnosed with breast cancer. While Juanita is staying strong and hopeful, like so many in the service industry, her access to healthcare, PTO, and medical leave is severely limited.
