The fact that Eelke Kleijn DJs in his socks and produces in a standing position tells you exactly what you need to know about him. He never feels more at home than when he’s behind the decks, and there’s no separation between the booth, his studio or the dance floor. This natural air he brings to all facets of his music is reflected in its organic feel and has helped his creative identity shine in a crowded scene.
Four albums into a well-established yet still rapidly ascending career, Kleijn is an artist very much in his element. Success has come on his own terms, without compromise or being calculating. In the grand scheme of things, he’s an underground artist, but one who has effortlessly made the jump into the wider world when the time and opportunity felt right. His remixes for the likes of John Legend, Pendulum, RÜFÜS DU SOL and James Newton Howard & Jennifer Lawrence are testament to his ability to reach wider audiences without giving up on his core values. Recent success has also come in the form of ‘Transmission’, with both the original version and Joris Voorn’s remix fully living up to their potential across DJ sets, leading charts and radio stations.
With a background playing piano, guitar and bass and a healthy sideline in composing for film and TV, his productions are imbued with a deep sense of musicality and emotion, always engendering a strong sense of space, place and occasion. His work scoring Hollywood blockbusters like Batman vs Superman, Rush, Parkerand This Means Warhas been met with great acclaim, with plenty more on the way.
His own imprint, DAYS like NIGHTS, is becoming an increasingly important part of what he does. Serving as a multi-faceted platform where he enjoys total creative control, it encompasses a label, a radio show and podcast, and world-renowned events.
JKriv is a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and label owner. Widely known as a co-founder of the stalwart label Razor-N-Tape, J is also a highly respected producer, prolific remixer, and incendiary DJ. In a music career stretching 2 decades, JKriv has blazed an unconventional path through the club world, beginning as a trained jazz musician and live performer before honing his studio and DJ skills. JKriv’s prolific production work has yielded scores of releases on Razor-N-Tape, Glitterbox, Soundway Records, Heist Recordings, Moton Records, Z Records, and many other labels. As a songwriter, arranger, collaborator, and studio musician, J has worked with luminary artists Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco feat. Kathy Sledge, Adi Oasis, John Morales, Dames Brown and many more. JKriv’s music has garnered support from all quarters of club and radio DJs, such as Antal, Hunee, Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, Derrick Carter, Disclosure, Andrew Weatherall, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Pete Tong Craig Charles, and Jamz Supernova, among many others.
In 2024 J has shown a different side of his musical persona, with his electronic/ ambient Within EP, a dub 7” under alias Kings of High Speed that has earned massive support from Gilles Peterson, as well as a steady stream of remix output. In early 2025 J will release a new original EP on Razor-N-Tape exploring heavier club sounds, in line with the high energy DJ sets he has been delivering. Like his productions, JKriv’s DJ sets showcase his deep and diverse taste, weaving eclectic disco, house, world grooves, and offbeat selections together seamlessly. Coming off a recent EU tour that included sets at renowned venues Hi (Ibiza) for Glitterbox, Heidegluhen (Berlin), Night Tales Loft (London) and Pike’s (Ibiza), the rest of 2024 will include hometown performances at Good Room, Gabriela, Nightmoves plus featured headlining sets in Seattle, LA, Mexico City and a return to the Mareh Festival in Brazil.
J has recently been featured guests on NTS Radio, Openlab Ibiza, Balamii Radio and hosted his own regular “Living Sounds” show on Radio Alhara throughout lockdown. As co-founder of Brooklyn label Razor-N-Tape, JKriv has had a sizable impact on both the local NY and global dance music scenes. The label’s prolific and consistent quality output across 150+ releases over 12 years of operation has earned them eminent respect and support from club DJs, radio selectors and listeners around the world.
