Description
With the arrival of his self-released breakout single “Pick and Choose” in 2022, Memphis-born singer/songwriter Daniel Nunnelee introduced the world to his sweetly offbeat and soul-baring form of folk/indie-rock. An instant viral sensation that amassed over a million streams in just ten days, “Pick and Choose” soon led to the making of June, Baby: a strangely enchanting debut album revealing both his old-soul sensibilities and wide-eyed perspective on finding your way in the world.
With its title nodding to his birthday month and to the duality he embodies as a quintessential Gemini, June, Baby explores such emotionally heavy matters as anxiety and anticipatory grief, endlessly showcasing the graceful musicality he first developed by playing guitar in church as a kid. A lifelong nature lover who wrote much of June, Baby at his favorite park and at remote cabins in Mississippi and Colorado, the Nashville-based artist also sets his self-reflection to a one-of-a-kind sound matching its homespun charm with the unbridled energy he’s brought to the stage opening for artists like Madi Diaz and Shakey Graves (in addition to headlining his own tours).
A truly gifted vocalist who brings an undeniably playful spirit to his existential questioning, Nunnelee ultimately hopes that listeners might take whatever they need from his songs—whether it’s a deeper communion with the natural world that incessantly inspires his music, or a monumental shift in their own outlook on life.
Hailing from New York City by way of Tampa, FL & Athens, GA, producer, singer, songwriter, and mulB-instrumentalist Shane T (Shane Toriscelli) has a wide range of influences. Inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen and David Lynch, and shaped by a religious upbringing, Shane T captures a disBnct brand of guitar and drum-machine driven indie rock. His debut and self-produced LP “Sweet”, coming fall of 2024, looks to expand on these senBments and hone in on his disBnct self reflecBve wriBng style. The lead singles, “Swimming Pool” and “No More QuesBons”, incorporate a step forward in producBon style developed while producing works for arBsts such as RiW Momney, Molly Parden and himself in his Brooklyn, NY studio.
Shane’s self-produced debut EP Holy Nights, Bad Advice established his sound and garnered the aWenBon of other notable arBsts, leading to a naBonal support tour with Illiterate Light and a number of producBon credits with RiW Momney. Standout tracks “WasBng Time” and “Apartment Dream” highlight his introspecBve wriBng style, wrestling with self-idenBty, religious themes, and relaBonships with tact, cynicism, & sincerity.
Shane’s second EP Night Drive is an expansion on these themes, and an aggressive step forward sonically. “My mission to keep things simple hasn’t changed, I think my ideas have just goWen bigger,” says Shane. “This upcoming EP is in some ways an ode to the three years I spent in the more rock-emphasized scene of Nashville. On the surface the songs are much more quick-hi_ng, but sBll offer a lyrical depth I’m proud of.”
