Description
Hailing from Los Angeles, Alex Isley comes from a musically rich and versatile family. Her maternal grandmother was an opera singer, and began classically-training Alex at age 12, while her father, Ernie, and his brothers, are collectively the R&B/Funk pioneers, The Isley Brothers.
Alex has collaborated with an array of artists, from Kendrick Lamar (“These Walls”) to Lucky Daye (“Good & Plenty” (remix), “CandyDrip” (album)), to PJ Morton (“How Deep Is Your Love (Piano version), “Still Believe”). In November 2019, Alex and producer, Jack Dine, released a joint EP entitled ‘Wilton’, followed by their joint album, “Marigold”, with several singles released in-between.
In Fall 2022, she released a joint project with fellow Angeleno and legendary producer Terrace Martin, titled, “I Left My Heart In Ladera”. Alex has been featured on HBO’s hit series “Insecure”, her own NPR Tiny Desk (Home Edition). Most recently, she made her debut appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, alongside Robert Glasper and SiR, performing their song, “Back To Love”, which has earned two 2024 Grammy nominations; for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
