Description
Hutch Harris of the Thermals doing a solo acoustic set alongside the Abomic Toms doing stripped down acoustic support. Presented by and with selections from Tony of the No More Heroes Show on KXLU 88.9FM.
Hutch Harris was born in New York City, raised in Silicon Valley, and has resided in Portland, Oregon since 1998. Harris was the lead singer and primary songwriter of post-pop-punk legends The Thermals; In fifteen years (2002-2017) the band released seven LPs, most notably 2006’s The Body, The Blood, The Machine (Sub Pop Records), a loud, prescient and still relevant exploration of the collision of religion and politics in the United States. In 2019 Harris released his solo debut LP Only Water, an introspective and meditative collection of songs exploring love and loss. In 2021 he released his second solo LP SUCK UP ALL THE OXYGEN, a brash and snotty album not dissimilar to The Thermals’ classic material. Harris recently released two power-pop singles, “I Will Find My Way” and “I Will Be Alright If I Have You” and is currently preparing his third solo LP Not Everyone is Lovedfor release in Spring of 2024. Harris has appeared as a guest on over forty podcasts including WTF With Marc Maron and Song Exploder, and has written over twenty-five essays for The Talkhouse, Watt, and Tidal.
