Description
ANIMA! are an alternative indie electronic duo formed of the best parts of Arielle Vakni and Vicente Espi who originate from California and South Africa. Their enchantingly iconic vocal and unique cerebral beat boutique has fast become a favorite alt-indie electronic alongside their inspirations like Sylvan Esso and Little Dragon; who first inspired their formation.
Their 2023 album “Not At This Time” features their powerful female vocal, uplifting beats and their signature colorful sound world that they have become most celebrated for. Spanning styles of indie pop, indie rock, lo-fi, synth-pop, and retro beats; it’s an incredibly expansive, colorful and fun album to love. New tracks Pop Stars, Melting Colors and I Don’t Give A show an act that’s never sitting at the norm and questioning you to do the same. There’s something deeply refreshing in each track, with something you will have not heard before and artwork that will keep you looking into a deeper narrative.
“There's a hint of pop about it all, but it always comes back to something that steers clear of being too simple. And I think that's what I like most about their style.”
\- Jason Grishkof, the founder of Indie Shuffle.
Other popular releases from the alternative indie-electronic duo’s catalog such as ANIMA! (2016), Art:Work (2017), and Grow Your Garden (2019) have featured on Apple Music’s New Music Daily, Alterna-Pop Ambassadors, Alt Pop and Spotify’s Global Viral 50, All New Indie, Indie Pop, New Music Friday (UK, NL) and more.
Standing out as a uniquely international duo cutting their own groove, ANIMA!’s collaboration across continents is a refreshing source of inspiration. Listen to their latest release, “Not At This Time”, out now.
Limited tickets will be sold at the door.
