Description
L.A. based artist “Jane.” performing live in his hometown, in support of his bi-coastal, two show “Free, Suddenly” tour. Typically performing songs with a guitar, Jane. is again, shaking things up. Inspired from his time on the road (performing in Suki Waterhouse live band) DJ’ing after gigs and producing with just his laptop in his bunk on the bus, Jane. has come back to performing with a new show and new material presented in a completely new way. Inspired by limitation, Jane. has leaned into his passion for “computer music” as he says, and cites James Blake, Moby, Fred Again.., as the main influences to this new material.
BIO
Paraj Jain has always been an outlier, even when he didn’t want to be one. Now, he and his music are standing out for all the right reasons.
“I was struggling to find a place to fit in,” the artist says. “I’ve always felt unable to see myself in all of these different places: Pop culture, music, fashion, film. But I’ve now realized that is actually my greatest gift - that I can’t fit into certain things.”
Raised in both India and America, with an Indian father and a half Black mother, Jain is innately unique: A multiethnic, multiracial artist who has several homes and no homes, all at once. Through his musical project Jane. a play on his last name he is finally fully embracing his own identity and recognizing his own singular vision.
