Saturday 14th October @ Meow
Lateral Movement is coming out of winter hibernation to bring our biggest, most immersive club experience yet on Saturday October 14th.
For installation 4.0 we’ve teamed up with the InSessioncrew to present a double headliner of Wisdom Teeth co-founders Facta and K-Lone. Both in their own right pioneering producers and DJs of the experimental electronic scene, Facta and K-Lone will be bringing us a world-class B2B set for their first ever appearance in Aotearoa.
Wisdom Teeth is a London-based experimental electronic label that was launched in 2014 as an output for the experimental no-name bass-heavy dance music that was coming out of UK clubs during the post-dubstep fallout. The label first made its name releasing the early output of a slew of creative young producers that included Wen, Acre, Hodge and Simo Cell. Drawing influence from grime, garage, techno and experimental electronics, the label played a pivotal role in shaping the ever-shifting sound of the era’s club scene alongside kindred labels like LivitySound, No Symbols and Timedance.
We’ve put together a curated support lineup to see us through the night right, bringing up bass experimentalist Anima from Ōtautahi, alongside left-field tech wizard Ultraviolet and Pōneke’s best kept secret Wear Pounamu.
On top of that, we’ve got visual masterminds Cyberboy666, Imazahl, and NES.R cooking up a stage concept that promises to be spectacular and immersive - if you were at the last Lateral you might have a clue of what we’ve got in store.
Lateral Movement is a semi-irregular club night showcasing left-field, experimental dance music with a focus on the alternative and unexpected. Lateral Movement events are infrequent, curated, and mostly undocumented. Come for the music / stay in the moment / let’s enjoy the journey together.
Keep in mind - everyone deserves to feel safe and respected at Lateral Movement parties - we have zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, or any other kinds of discrimination. Respect people’s space on the dance floor, don’t touch anybody without their consent, look after each other and stay hydrated. If you have any concerns, please talk to the bar staff or the crew, we’re all here to help!
