**Bre Kennedy with special guest Jess Nolan live at Eddie's Attic!** After grabbing an acoustic guitar at 12-years-old, Bre Kennedy found herself performing throughout Los Angeles and then relocating to Nashville, where she built a buzz with show stopping live performances around town. She began independently sharing her music, including her Jealous of Birds EP \[2019\], Twenty Something EP \[2020\], and Note to Self \[2021\], before signing to Nettwerk in 2022 and releasing her Clarity EP. Consequence of Sound hailed Kennedy's work as “contemplative and vulnerable,” and Guitar Magazine exclaimed, “Bre Kennedy is bound to be a household name for all the right reasons.” Beyond headlining sold out shows, Bre has performed alongside Sheryl Crow and Gary Clark, JR., joined Joy Oladokun and Paper Kites on their 2022 headline tours, and made her Bonnaroo debut. As she drove over 10,000 miles over the course of 2022, Bre reached a personal inflection point on the road and began writing new music. Collating her experiences in the studio, she collaborated with producer Davis Naish and cowriters Morgan Nagler, Mikey Reese, and Emily Hackett. Bre introduces the upcoming set of songs with Scream Over Everything (Side A), the first half of a larger body of music coming later this year. On it, she discloses her innermost thoughts, fears and dreams with a novelist’s attention-to-detail. **Jess Nolan** The seeds of Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jess Nolan’s sophomore LP ’93, out this fall via Righteous Babe Records, sprouted in the height of 2020. Nolan, a member of Jenny Lewis’ all-female touring band, is an in-demand co-writer, vocalist, and touring musician for artists like Katie Pruitt, Joy Oladokun, Lydia Luce, and more. In the midst of the initially involuntary stillness, she planted a backyard vegetable garden, moved her involvement in mentoring young female songwriters online, and traveled back to her New Jersey hometown to stay with family for weeks at a time. In the face of uncertainty, strong, deeply-rooted feelings came pouring out, resulting in 10 poignant reflections on rebirth, reconnection, and mindfulness. With an intention for listeners to feel grounded from its first moment, ‘93 is meant to be a meditation, bringing a sense of rootedness in its execution. In an age of autotune and click tracks, Nolan and her co-producers, Will Honaker and Ross McReynolds, pursued a much more collaborative, organic approach. The atmosphere of the album came from an open and spiritually full place. “Writing this album was a declaration that I will not give up on myself. Only from that place can I fully show up for those around me. I have so much gratitude for this process of making songs and sharing them.
