Maliki return to Hootananny Brixton! Maliki are pianist Filip Sowa and drummer Thomas Sunney, two friends whose musical association found its feet over drums and bass guitar jam sessions. Eventually solidifying into a drum and piano duo, with one foot in electronica the music is founded on melodic ostinato-laced piano and unwavering drums. In 2020, the duo released a series of singles throughout the year receiving much airplay from Worldwide Fm and Amazing Radio. Near the end of 2021, the duo signed to Gondwana Records and began work on their debut album. Drawing influences from the likes of BADBADNOTGOOD, Gogo Penguin and Flying Lotus, the band's music features melodic landscapes and propulsive drums. Supported by ABNA Hootananny Brixton.
