Event Details

The first transgender artist to ever win a Latin American Grammy, Brazilian singer-songwriter Liniker is the voice of an artist making history.

In 2015, Liniker fronted one of Brazil’s most compelling soul bands Liniker and the Caramelows, quickly gaining both national and international levels of success. Since then, she has toured across the world, releasing the albums Remonta in 2016 and Goela Abaixo in 2019 – nominated for a Latin Grammy.

In 2021, the Liniker released her first solo album, Indigo Borboleta Anil, featuring Milton Nascimento, Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica, Letieres Leite and Orkestra Rumpilezz, among others. The album received three nominations for the 2022 Latin Grammy, making Liniker the most nominated Brazilian artist of that year and the first transgender artist to ever win the award.

“As a black trans woman from the São Paulo city of Araraquara, Liniker and her powerful voice have flourished in what is statistically the most dangerous place in the world to be queer. Today, she’s one of the country’s fastest rising stars.” (Dazed)

“Liniker is a political symbol of hope for Brazil's LGBTQ+ community..'” (Dazed Magazine)

Opening the night for Liniker is Afro-Latin percussion & brass duet, Ladies of Midnight Blue, comprised of Hannabiell Sanders and Yilis del Carmen Suriel. They create a powerful and upbeat fusion of rhythms, weaving combinations melodic percussion, brass, vocal chants, and mbira.
