Description
The New Division is the electronic synth-pop project of John Kunkel, a California-based musician, producer, and sound designer with Brazilian American heritage. The band is backed by musicians Alex Gonazeles (Drums), James Meays (Guitar), Michael Janz (Keys), and Daniel Corrales (Bass).
Starting his music career at the age of 13, Kunkel formed The New Division in 2007 and has since released five albums, six EPs, and numerous remixes and productions.
Since their early days, The New Division has toured extensively in both North America and Europe opening for acts such as Peter Hook & The Light, Peter Muprhy, Neon Trees, Slow Magic, The Concretes, Minus The Bear, Shout Out Louds, and Elefant.
His latest album, "Modern Life," explores the themes of chaos, isolation, and finding escape in music during the pandemic. With a darker edge than its predecessor, "Hidden Memories," the album delves into the effects of technology addiction and navigating a constantly changing world.
Night Drive Bio:
Inspired by sci-fi cinematic landscapes, Night Drive creates modern synth-pop that explores the darker currents of abstract emotion. Their infectious melodies and pulsing dance beats unveil a stylish, energetic sound that has been featured in film, tv and radio around the world. New album out in Summer 2023.
