JUSTIN CUDMORE
Midwest-born and raised- Brooklyn based DJ, Justin Cudmore is a mainstay at some of your favorite queer parties across the US and worldwide. Back home in New York he’s the creator of the successful monthly BALANCE party series.
His bold, acid-flecked distillation of house and techno has found a home on the labels that are helping to shape the current landscape of transgressive body music, including The Bunker New York, Detroit’s Interdimensional Transmissions, and Honey Soundsystem label HNYTRX.
An unabashed party DJ with a depth of knowledge beyond the often cookie-cutter framework of contemporary dance music, his effective but uncompromising style has been featured in his Rinse FM show as well as mixes for series such as Beats In Space, Truants, Phantasy and The Bunker New York’s long-running podcast. His sound is defined by snaking acid lines, whip smart drums and offbeat rave melodies that have resonated with DJs and dancers on dance floors everywhere.
KATIE REX
Katie Rex is a curator, DJ, & producer based in New York City. With roots beginning in the Philadelphia rave scene, her passion for the underground has crossed genre boundaries and culminated into an in-depth knowledge of music and cultural trends after dark. Always a standout, Rex’s sets are incendiary techno demolitions, with traces of grotty industrial and massive rave worked in. She's shared the bill with top artists across genres, staying true to her passion for progressive sounds.
Her longstanding dedication to the underground has cultivated the sound and ethos of her venerated party BOUND.
LEEON
As Latin American dance music establishes itself as source of forward-thinking approaches to sound, redefining it's entanglements with pioneering scenes from the global north, the work of local activists like Enrique Leon, ELO, or Leeon as he's known for djing, has contributed to join the dots between, and open space for, artist and collectives who are forming the tissue of our region's music culture. The joint dots have become bridges, and the open space a platform from which stories are told and communities are formed.
Leeon's contribution to Latin America's music landscape has come in many forms and scales. Orchestrating connections to bridge Latin American dance music communities; he promotes the music of local artist co-running Ediciones Danza Negra, a label that has released music from established and budding producers; and he strengthens and stirs up the local music ecosystem as a Dj and producer whose sound has taken him to stages around the world that span from Berghain to Glastonbury Festival, to DIY raves and clubs within the underground electronic music scene in Latin America.
ELO's restless search for space and resonance for the sound-workers of the region has been a drop in the fuel that has lit up its current vitality, and continues to drive his artistic practice.
MAKADSI
Makadsi brings a unique style and sound to underground electronic music. Born and raised in Lebanon, the multi-hyphenate creator mends his cultural experiences with prominent Arabic influences present in his cross-genre sets. He is based in Brooklyn, NY and is a resident DJ at FUNCTION where he keeps ‘em dancing till the sun comes up. Makadsi is having a busy end-of-year playing with Honey Dijon for her sold-out NYC show and then joining us shortly after to ring in the new year!
MEMPHY
A born & raised New Yorker, Memphy came from a musical family and was exposed to nightlife at a young age. Making her DJ debut at only 17 years old with a set at the Gucci store, she has since become a rising star of Brooklyn’s queer techno scene, bringing her eclectic, trance-y, ravey sets to parties like Papi Juice, Club Glam, Heaven, FIST, and MoreMoreMore.
Featured in the fashion world either as a model, regularly working with some of the most coveted labels from Savage X Fenty, Skims & Dion Lee, or behind the decks DJing for brands from Calvin Klein to Diesel to Playboy - Memphy has created her own lane in the industry and cemented herself in the vision and sound of her generation.
During this year’s pride, Memphy was selected by Madonna to play the closing set of her party & later appeared with Queen M herself on Paper magazine’s digital cover. New York magazine called her a “techno sexy princess” in a recent profile, and Interview declared her one of “the dolls keeping New York City alive.”
MICHAEL MAGNAN
Michael Magnan is a multi-disciplinary artist, DJ and producer based in NYC. With roots in the east coast rave scene stretching back to the mid-90’s, he moved to NY in 2000, began DJing professionally shortly after and has been an indispensable presence in the club scene since.
A tried & true resident at multiple Ladyfag’s parties from 11:11, Family Function, Holy Mountain & No Frills, and playing queer parties worldwide from Panorama Bar to Honcho & back again to his current residency at Nowadays- we are proud to call Michael Magnan family.
Aside from working solo you can find him collaborating on music with Allergy Season label boss Physical Therapy under the moniker Fatherhood. Together they have released on Nervous Records, Batty Bass (UK) and Study Reccords (Stockholm).
SKIN
Best known as the lead singer of Skunk Anansie, Skin is one of Britain’s leading and acclaimed rock singers & songwriters. Born and brought up in Brixton, South London, she rejected the safe haven of soul/R&B session singing by literally diving headlong into hardcore rock. Seeing a lot of similarities between dance music & rock music , she convinced the band to do remixes with DJs at a time when this wasn’t commonplace. This led to their hit song ‘Weep’ being remixed by the legendary Junior Vasquez with heavy rotation on the infamous Twilo dancefloor.
