Artopsy: A Dissection of Mental Health and Harm Reduction through Art and Community
This event will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, focused on identifying and tending to daily difficulties, on the road to growth. As humans we commonly face challenges concerning mental health and wellbeing. Here at The Bluebird, we value supportive community that will provide us the means to evolve into the best version of ourselves. You are never alone!
Our community in the Reno/Tahoe area encompasses freedom of expression and imagination. Through the many forms of art, we can learn to find beauty in everyday life and create powerful compositions with pain as our paint. Pain can be strenuous and unrelenting, many have no other choice in their minds eye but to abuse substance as a coping mechanism. Without the support of a group or someone close, finding help can feel like climbing Everest. Harm Reduction and Mindfulness will focus on further strengthening a sense of collectivism and developing one’s ability to express their true emotions in a healthier and more dependable fashion. With a better understanding of mental health and community, we can help to educate each other and aid our fellow humans in overcoming adversity.
Artopsy is hosted by Baby J, aka Jenny D, who will help us dissect our struggles and pick apart our pain. To change one’s perspective and to create art capable of healing is the goal. Our minds are powerful tools capable of overcoming anything if given the time and domain. If this speaks to or about you, please come down to The Bluebird to create something beautiful, no experience in art is necessary.
