Eight years of countless nights on the dancefloor, hundreds of DJs, and thousands of dancers at this little neighborhood club in Greenpoint. We want to celebrate it all with you at our Anniversary Weekend this October with I Love Acid on the 20th, the XOXA crew on the 21st and Optimo on the 22nd.
After their stellar Pride extravaganza back in June, Brooklyn based Queer collective XOXA returns to Good Room this Friday. With guests like Shaun J. Wright and Barohawk Poitier playing alongside their local residents, the crew will helping us celebrate our 8th Anniversary dancing from doors until dawn.
In the main room, Shawn J. Wright will be headlining the night. Growing up in the epicenter of Chicago house culture in the late 80s and early 90s, it seems only fitting that music became a powerful force in Shaun J. Wright's life. From his early days in Juke and voguing, to singing in Hercules And Love Affair, cofounding the Twirl party and releasing his own productions, Shaun has become an international fixture in the dance music scene. Joining Shaun will be DC DJ Baronhawk Poitier (The NeedleExchange) and XOXA resident Kandylion.
The Bad Room sees NYC locals Evelyn, Heidy P., Niyah West and Honey B behind the booth, all night long. Expect a wide range of electronic sounds, from vocal house, to disco to acid, with a focus on high energy emotional sets and heavy club dance music.
