Description
Rising star Dylan is set to headline an intimate live show, with support from friends Mae Muller, Lola Young and Cate, at Lafayette on the 11th October, as part of this years Day Of The Girl series, aimed at empowering young women and highlighting the challenges they face around the world. The series is presented by Amigas and War Child UK - the specialist charity for children living in conflict. Tickets on sale Thursday 25th August at 10am.
Primed for big things, DYLAN is the latest talent making waves. After being selected as one of Virgin’s emerging stars, she’s made a splash with her anthemic guitar-driven sound, with NME tipping her as “pop’s next superstar”
DYLAN’s specially curated show will be the first to kick off the 2022 series of music, gaming and art events as a part of the charity’s Day of The Girl initiative - in celebration of the UN ratified ‘International Day of the Girl Child’. This follows last year’s inaugural event, which was headlined by Brit’s Rising Star Griff, and once again is aimed at empowering girls and young women, the initiative will seek to amplify their voices, address the challenges they face, and boldly promote their human rights.
Every day, girls in war zones across the world are being lost to conflict, and with rates of conflict on the rise, access to education and systems like child protection services are diminishing. In places like Yemen, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, girls are having to turn to dangerous measures like child labour and early marriage, where they face exploitation, violence and abuse, just to help their families survive.
War Child’s mission is to ensure a safer future for each and every one of these girls, and Day Of The Girl aims to create a moment that highlights the specific challenges girls and young women face around the world, and to raise vital funding to help protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children affected by conflict.
Presented by War Child UK & Amigas.
