Description
**ED FROM SPACE**
Although they are not quite from space but from Peru, Italy and New York — their sound certainly is alien. The combination of vibrato-filled guitars, funky bass lines, soothing keys that feel like ice-cream to the ears, extraterrestrial drum grooves, earth-shattering guitar solos and blues-infused vocal performances served on the rocks, summon you for a mesmerizing space expedition. If a simplified explanation of their sound was needed, a solid answer would be: indie r&b, alternative rock and funk with brushstrokes of jazz.
The debut EP of the NYC based band, Yellow Nights, was released in July of 2019. The 5 song record “offers a window to the world” as published by Honeysuckle magazine.
Their three singles released in 2021 - “Silence”, “Words” and "The Tunnel" are available for streaming.
**MINETTA**
Minetta is a Brooklyn-based collective that plays an eclectic, improv-heavy blend of funk, jazz, and rock music. Their 2020 debut LP, Automatone (produced by Alan Evans of Soulive) is available on all streaming platforms. The band is comprised of guitarists Matt Russo and Andrew Livoti, keyboardist Eric Lemberg, bassist Francis Gillespie, drummer Kevin Urvalek, trumpeter Thomas Abercrombie, saxophonist Anthony Ferrara, and trombonist Will Nannery.
**PHILOSOPHERS**
Phil and the Osophers (or just Philosophers for short) is the musical moniker of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Philip Radiotes. The project has released work ranging from deeply personal, Dylan-esque bedroom folk to rhythmic, Talking Heads inspired, garage-influenced indie rock. As one would expect from such a band name, philosophical ideas are the lyrical focus. Radiotes’ lyrics encompass revelatory, visionary, and transformative themes, built upon a foundation of novel musical ideas.
Live, the band features Ben Uniacke on guitar, Jihee Jane on keyboard and violin, Steve Remp on drums, James Denatale on bass, with Phil on guitar and vocals. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Passion Pit, Art Brut, Miike Snow, Les Savy Fav, The Tallest Man on Earth, The Dodos and many more.
**QUINTON SMITH & THE COMPANY**
Quinton Smith and the Company are a band from New Jersey whose music conveys an examination of personal relationships with an optimistic outlook.
