Description
For the next NYC edition of Hiya Live Sessions on August 18 at Public Records, Syrian-American musician and artist Boshra AlSaadi a.k.a. SAADI will be premiering songs inspired by Arabic classics, and remixes from her catalogue, blending bass-driven electro-synth with live dumbek and triggered beats. Also playing are percussionist Natalia Perlaza on dumbek, Joanna Choy on keyboards/vocals, with accompanying light art from Camilla Padgitt-Coles. Rahill, Habibi’s lead singer, will dig deep into her vintage record collection from Iran and the region for a rare DJ set, and Shirine Saad will open with funky Arabic bangers.
Limited tickets will be sold at the door.
