Kudzu Kings
Kudzu Kings have been an institution since 1994, touring east of the Rockies for a solid 10 years and sincethen playing frequently at festivals and clubs in the Southeast to date. The band has sold 10,000 units each oftheir first two albums and fans continue to post and trade live shows online. While the band gained popularityplaying the “jamband” circuit, the majority of the songs are in a more traditional vein, stories about life in thesouth, in a style the band calls “funktry”. (see excerpt in the book “Jambands: the complete guide to theplayers, music, & scene” by Dean Budnick ).While the band has had a few personnel changes in the past 20 years, the original lineup has been reunited andplaying together for the last five years: Tate Moore (vocals, acoustic acoustic guitar), Robert Chaffe(keyboards), and “Kudzu” Dave Woolworth (vocals, bass), Max Williams (original guitarist), GeorgeMcConnell (guitar, Beanland, Kudzu Kings, Widespread Panic), and Chuck Sigler (drums). The band’s latest release is their 25th Anniversary concert (recorded 2019, released 2020) available on CD,digital download and streaming platforms. Kudzu Kings currently have another live record pending release in2022 as a double vinyl and they are working on a third record of new studio material (to replace the thirdrecord scrapped several years back). All the members are active gigging in side projects together when notperforming as Kudzu Kings.Thank you for your interest, time, and support.
Tony Caldwell
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tony Caldwell is a veteran of the North Mississippi music scene. His music weaves his storytelling of the American South together with a nod to the work of Carl Jung to create an introspective blend reminiscent of Daniel Lanois and Buddy Miller. But the North Mississippi roots are deep and make for a sound that is both atmospheric and rootsy, never losing the raw trance funk that the North Mississippi Hill Country Blues is known for. Now a resident of Nashville, Tony is a practitioner of Jungian psychoanalysis and co-owner of Caldwell Guitars Nashville in East Nashville. In addition to his solo material, Tony has been performed and/or recorded with Eric Deaton (Black Keys), Jack Sonni (Dire Straits), Shanon McNally, and members of the historic Kimbrough and Burnside families, and has performed as a supporting act for artists including Galactic, Robert Earl Keen, Blue Mountain, Martin Barre, and Drivin and Cryin. Tony will be joined by Grammy award-winning bassist Jimbo Hart (Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires) and longtime collaborator Wallace Lester on drums whose touring and recording credits include Rev. John Wilkins, the Como Mamas, and Teardrop City among many others.
