Description
PR Resident, Dee Diggs brings her party, House of Diggs (HoD), to Public Records for this special PRIDE edition. She has curated a lineup that gives insight into her queer imagination- inviting the illustrious talents of artists who identify as nonbinary, trans, queer, and lesbian to define this celebratory moment for ourselves by showing off how we summon the rainbow (at night). There will be a special drag performance to accompany this night of music.
Usual HoD sonics are spellbinding blends of old school and new school, digital and vinyl deep cuts, and expert experimenting with genre-hopping and storytelling: ranging through soul, disco, pop, house, techno, and other juicy surprises that just can not be named, but are guaranteed to move you.
**In the Sound Room**
Holding it down and taking us to peak, Kim Anh, the Can U Not Talk label boss and phd level Club Queen status in both her former home of LA and NYC - her current home. With a decade in the music game, she’s done the assignment and she’s got the range! She’s a triple threat- DJ, producer, and singer-songwriter who is always carving out her own path and sound in new directions. Her way of melding her influences is truly something special to witness.
As our Headliner, we have Beige, from club mecca, Detroit - They are known for smooth mixing and colorful, unpretentious sets that whip between genres and tempos: big melodies, big vocals, big Moods, sprinkled with cheeky pop references.
In Spring 2022, they released a stellar DJ mixtape named Amen! Vol 1, on Eris Drew and Octa Octa’s T4T LUV NRG label. To quote the mixtape’s Bandcamp page: “Beige’s mix is an amalgam of ecclesiastical breaks and gospel house delivered with intensity and soul power like only they can do. Prepare to be enthralled with one of the most exciting DJs currently burning their way through the American underground.
**Host & Drag Performer**
Cherry Jaymes is a first-generation Liberian-American nonbinary trans-woman who has blossomed into model and drag performer with the goal to normalize trans people in the media and advocate for civil rights issues. She is beauty, She is EVERY WOMAN, it’s all in her, word to Whitney.
Cherry will delight us with a breathtaking performance, so bring some ca$h for her and come with respect for all the Queens of the night.
**In the Bar**
Rose Kourts, local mainstay and rising star, has been summoned to carry on the vibe all night. She is known for her dynamic selections, undeniable command of groove, and infectious energy. Word has it that she has been stacking up quite the impressive vinyl collection over the past year as well, so with the blessing of an extended set, we gladly groove deep into the crates with curiosity and trust in Rose Kourts to amplify the good feelings of this night.
Limited tickets will be sold at the door.
