ISOULJAHS Live @ Nextdoor. 21+ $10 Presale & $15 at the door!
Hittin' you with that authentic, classic, timeless Reggae Music that they have been performing since the early '90s, the ISOULJAHS Band take you on a musical journey – their musical journey! Having formative years in the Surf/Skate Youth Culture of late 80s/early 90s Southern California, the sounds of Punk & Hip Hop were prevalent of course, but to ISOULJAHS, the various eras and styles ofJamaican Music including Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Dub, and Dancehall were much more sonically pleasing and inspirational. This influence would spark a lifelong mission to create a legacy of powerful Reggae Music that they could call their own, while keeping the Roots of Reggae Music and Sound System Culture alive outside of its homeland Jamaica. Moving mystically from that time till this time, the sounds of Ras Mikey & ISOULJAHS always rock the crowd withv positive vibes and good Reggae Music.
Originally formed in 1992 in Southern California by Ras Mikey and being based out of Honolulu, Hawaii since relocating to the islands in 2005, the lineup currently consists of Ras Mikey on vocals, Chris “Bassie” Bibler on Bass, Jamie “Jammah” Campehos on keyboards, Lloyd Kawai on drums, as well as special guest singers and players of instruments along for the ride. Their album releases include Kings Muzik, Crucial Roots, Monday Night Live, Ras Mikey-ISOULJAHS: A Decade of Foundation, and singles on various compilations including their limited press vinyl 7”in record “Wadada” on JR Records (Junior Reid's label).
Throughout the years they largely gained their following through their strong live shows at clubs, concerts, showcases, festivals, and tours – consistently playing, performing, and touring throughout Hawaii, California, and the Western portion of the US continent.
After a short hiatus, the band is back to bring forth some crucial roots musicto the masses. ISOULJAHS' forthcoming release “Politricks Man” and Ras Mikey's latest solo release “King Sound” were both produced by Sam Ites (Natural Vibrations/Mike Love/Paula Fuga), as well as a planned future full length release. Their latest music visuals of “Herbalology” now on YouTube, Instagram, etc are helping them to reach an even larger audience worldwide. As they continue to push forward and spread their brand of Reggae Music to the world, be sure to tune in to the sounds of ISOULJAHS.
