Sonic love travels in many dimensions and as it relates to music, Marques Wyatt is a seminal pioneer and is undoubtedly one of the most respected DJ's in the United States and a West Coast legend. In addition to producing some of LA's most legendary clubs/events, many associate him with "DEEP," the illustrious event that he nurtured in his hometown of Los Angeles - thriving and continuing today for well over 25+ years. He is one of the few DJ's that have managed to cross pollinate audiences and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors. Thus, he is in demand at clubs, as well as on the festival circuit alike, stateside and abroad. Marques' unerring, knowledgeable selections are sure to stir up some emotions and known to turn huge dance floors into intimate rituals.
NOEMA is known for his sexy, deep and magical sound: A unique blend of transcultural slow jams, dubby Disco and psychedelic House, combined in a highly energetic mix. The absorbing dramaturgies of his DJ sets take the dancers through various tempos and styles to dionysian frenzy.
You’ve probably moved your feet to his edit of Ata Kak ‘Daa Nyinaa’, a stone-cold fox of an anthem that appeared on massive hit African Shakedown #1. Over the years since his first dj appearance in 1997, Noema has worked with the likes of Apparat, Daniel Wang and Dixon among others. His label, The Magic Movement, promises to bring all sorts of transcultural tunes to the world’s musical equation, while his Magic Jams sublabel takes care of the funky side of House and Disco.
After a year of hibernation, it's time to E-M-E-R-G-E! Gather with your vaccinated friends to listen to music from the playa mixed by veteran DJs who have brought wonders to people's ears and opened/closed to John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Crystal Method, The Scumfrog, and others. The Public Works will be open Friday July 16th for a night of Deep, Progressive and Tech House all joined in a box of musical wonders!
