Denver-based Float Like a Buffalo is horn-driven Ska-funk-reggae-rock with nods to the funk of Lettuce, jam of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, rock of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chicago Transit Authority, soul of James Brown, & high-energy guitar licks of Jimi Hendrix that all combine to make a sound impossible not to dance to.
They have become a regional funk sensation over the past five years, playing sold out shows at major Colorado venues like Red Rocks, Jazz Aspen Snowmass, The Bluebird Theater, & The Gothic Theatre – and taking the crown for Best Funk Band in Westword’s 2019 Music Awards. Float has opened for major artists like Face Vocal Band, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Dumpstaphunk, Galactic, Sting, Turkuaz, HER, Magic Beans, and MarchFourth, and has recently branched out regionally, selling out shows in Wyoming and Nebraska. The band features seven members: Cory Pearman (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), James Steinbach (Lead Guitar), Jason Clukies (Bass), Luke Story (Trumpet, Saxophone), Cory "Beef" Meier (Keys, Trombone), Phil Pleckham (Drums, Backup Vocals), and Garrett Achten (Percussion).
During the pandemic, the band created The Yard Ahead Tour, a live + live-stream hybrid concert experience sponsored by Breckenridge Brewery. In 2020, Float Like a Buffalo sold out a 2-night socially distant run at Red Rocks and a 2-night run at The Soiled Dove Underground for their Vertigo EP Release Show. Float Like a Buffalo is excited to return to touring in 2021, splitting their time between shows and festivals across the United States.

The Guerrilla Fanfare Brass Band (or simply Guerrilla Fanfare or GuFa) brings the high energy funk of New Orleans-style Brass Band to the Northern Colorado area. Our mission is always to get everyone up and grooving to our relentlessly fiery and funky sound. GuFa is composed of some of the finest and rowdiest horn players and percussionists in Northern Colorado, and performs hard-hitting funk, New Orleans Second Line style, fiery originals, and raucous arrangements of modern pop hits.
Guerrilla Fanfare has performed extensively at venues, private and public events, and festivals such as the ARISE Music Festival and New West Fest in Colorado. They have been invited to perform at Honk Fest West in Seattle in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and HONK!TX in 2017. In 2017, Guerrilla Fanfare won the ARISE Music Festival “Rock the Scene” contest, effectively winning an audition to perform at the festival as well. In 2018 and 2019, Guerrilla Fanfare won the Westword Music Award in the Brass Band Category.
In 2020, Guerrilla Fanfare released their second studio album, "Fall Out," and their first live album "Live at the Bluebird Theater."
