DJ NERVOSO (Príncipe)
born in São Tomé and Príncipe, a Portuguese-speaking island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa, but based in Quinta do Mocho, periphery of Lisbon for more than 2 decades now, is the main reason why DJ Marfox, DJ Firmeza and many others started deejaying and producing, hooked on his fiery DJ sets since they were barely in their teens, around 2001-2002. He is well known for a bare bones approach to rhythm, working the basic hypnotic feel of pounding drums to mesmerizing effect, in his permanent quest to make people move. His sound is meant to unite, not divide, the dancefloor. Even before he started producing, Nervoso was quick to perceive that some people were alienated in parties where Angolan kuduro got played, for the simple reason they didn't command the specific moves associated with the style or its variations. So his production focused on adapting the beats of this much-loved dance music, changing the codes for a more inclusive experience. Some call it techno.
SNO grew up in the township of Bophelong in the Vaal, South Africa, her uncle was a collector of Jazz, Soul, Funk, Afrobeat and Disco, surrounding her with this music for years. Since getting her hands on a proper turntable in 2015, SNO has started creating her own impressive collection. Playing music from all across the African continent and beyond, Manchester based, South African DJ SNO plays music to excite and delight your senses. She has a regular NTS Radio Show, Banana Hill and Dimensions DJ Directory.
he is one of the most important electronic music producers not only in his native Ghana but also taking into account the whole African continent. He caught everyone's attention few years ago with the project called JOWAA - his characteristic mixture of modern electronic music and local influences was quickly caught up not only by European DJs and producers (Bok Bok, Mina, Tash LC among others) but also respected labels (Ransom Note, Mixpak) and eventually led to the one and only Fever Ray asking him to rework one of her tracks for an official remix release. Now performing simply as Gafacci, he's coming back to Europe to once again get the dancefloor moving with his African infused club music sets. Having already performed in Germany, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal and more, his original compositions and edits have been also DJs' favourite choice all over the continent for the past two years.
