Description
What is the sonidero in Mexico, the sound system in Jamaica is the Picó in Colombia! Brightly painted box towers characterize the image of the Colombian party landscape. Each Picó can be identified in addition to his music selection strong and the hand-painted box towers. Soundsystem - Colombian Style! "El Volcán - El Orgullo de Berlin" is the first and only picó party of the city. With the best Dj's of the scene & live percussion here is a very special night full of Afro-Latin grooves! There is also a documentary film screening, and Caribbean snacks at the entrance!

London-born, Paris-based Hugo Mendez is the co-founder of renowned Sofrito label, responsible for an impeccable pedigree of globe-trotting releases that have found their way into record boxes and onto dancefloors around the world.
Bringing together a deep musical knowledge and extensive travels with a sharp ear for dancefloor-rocking tunes, his DJ sets draw on everything from vintage bassline Soukous to dubplate edits of Caribbean Cadence and boogie, passing by DIY electro and forward looking sounds to create a unique balance of hypnotic and percussive rhythms that he regularly showcases at clubs and festivals around the world.

Nomad is one of the most well respected Tropical DJ's and Record Collectors in the world. Besides being the founder of Vulkandance and being one half of the Music Project AFRICAINE 808, he is co-founder of Kréyol. He's one of the biggest collectors of African and Tropical Dance music in Europe, and a worldwide reknown expert on West African as well as Southafrican Soul, Funk and Disco.

Edna Martinez grew up in Cartagena de Indias, in the colombian caribbean which influence her musical selection: African organic rhythms, Tropical sounds, Champeta, Cumbia, Latin and even Arabic folklore.
