PR.SoundRoom [10_15]: Shuta Hasunuma's diverse activities include contributing soundtracks to stage productions and movies and creating music based on environmental and electronic sounds. Shuta is celebrating the release of 'Oa' on Northern Spy. He says, "Time flows continuously from past to present, and a 'now' exists. I believe that this means we must think about the coming future that connects from the present."
Opening the night is Josephine Foster, a musician and song composer from Colorado who breathes new life into archaic forms. She has lent her warbling operatic soprano and interpretive wit to nearly two decades of recordings. Her songs are rooted in early American folk-blues as well as classical art song and Tin Pan Alley. Her most recent record, Faithful Fairy Harmony (Fire records, 2018), is a diverse double album of self-penned spirituals.
