The Flabby Hoffman Trio
The Flabby Hoffman Trio features an intrepid mix of the profane and profound, summoning powerful, primordial grooves designed to awaken those punch drunk zombies from their slumbers like some musical based smelling salts. The reaction of most when first exposed to their gargantuan charisma and organically driven, awe inspiring circus of riffs and caterwauling leads to jaws dropping so hard that they need to be reeled back in with a fishing rod. Born in the ancient lost city of Chicago, these saucy boys have come to chew ass and kick bubble gumand they're all out of ass!
The Flabby Hoffman Caravan has been an ongoing omnibus of musicians and comics touring relentlessly in Chicago for 15 years. In that time, Flabby has put together and promoted 2500 shows at a wide array of clubs and festivals around town on both the rock and comedy circuits featuring thousands of performers, prize giveaways to audience members, televising shows on local television and also available on radio as well with two ongoing radio series (one weekly series based in Chicago and one based in Los Angeles). The slogan: You Need To Be The Change You Want To See In The World (even if its just a diaper change).
DIRTY LOVELY CREATURES is an odd mix of sounds. It’s influences range from Germany’s Boozoo Bajou to SoCal’s own Fu Manchu. Chris Brann’s Ananda Project and Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra are also heavy inspiration’s for this unusual act. The lyrics center around human secrets, and “the things that people do, when they think no one is watching...”
The majority of the songs are written by the group’s frontman, Boogiewhip, aka; lead singer of the Cabaret Rock n’ Roll Show, HOT SAUCE HOLIDAY. And they (mostly) chronicle the thoughts and opinions he carries towards the situations (and people) he witnessed during his “cult” upbringing in Northern California, circa, the late 90’s and early 2000’s.
Cynical and sexy, vulgar and articulate, DLC is a one-of-a-kind music experience you’ve got to hear AND see to believe.
