Description
The Matt Gilmour Band with JW Francis, The Cuckoos, and Siam Jem at The Satellite!
The Matt Gilmour Band: An Englishman in Austin, backed by the exceptionally talented musicians - AJ Vincent on keys and Mike Hidalgo on drums. A psychedelic sound to shake your bones!
JW Francis: JW Francis writes straight-forward bedroom pop ballads that sound like they were written late at night to a dear friend. With hints of Mac DeMarco and the Velvet Underground, his songs are mixtures of dedicated craftsmanship and heartfelt self-expression.
The Cuckoos: “The group transports us back to an era filled with the kind of vibrant hues favored by The Doors and Love while remaining very much of this moment and, ever so slightly, the future.” -PopMatters - - “[The Cuckoos’ EP] builds on the band's captivating blend of genres, evoking the 1960s through a contemporary lens.” -Relix - - “This retro-inspired four piece play classic late 60s-style acid rock with such authenticity, you’d never believe these guys were all born in the 90s.” -Culture Collide - - “Rock n' Roll is still alive! And the revival lives on in this Austin-based band, The Cuckoos.” -Melted Magazine
Siam Jem: Michaela Rabina is no stranger to DIY. At only 20 years old, she’s been a part of the thriving Inland Empire DIY scene since 2016, with the arrival of much-loved dream-pop act Caterwall becoming a fixture amongst the backyard crowd, playing alongside acts such as Foliage. In 2017, following the dissolution of Caterwall, Rabina formed Siam Jem, a fresh guitar-driven indie-pop project that centered her own songwriting and arranging. Inspired by heroes such as Hinds, The Aquadolls, Bikini Kill, and fellow DIY acts, Siam Jem has shared stages with artists such as Hot Flash Heat Wave, BOYO, & The Coathangers. In 2018 so far, the band has released an EP collecting their early material, and performed at several SXSW showcases. The band is set to release a series of singles in 2019.
