: : : BIG IMAGINATION : : :
Big Imagination is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that started in 2014 as a bold and ambitious vision – to take a 747 and transform it into the largest art car ever built for Burning Man. The project quickly developed into something even greater – a truly amazing community. 747 Big Imagination is at heart, a 100% participation camp. We pride ourselves in the diversity of people across geographic, socio-economic and gender boundaries - a group of people from all walks of life, who are together committed to creating something Bold, Inspiring, and Visionary. As we expand our imagination, dreaming bigger, the impossible becomes possible. Our projects rely on radical collaboration and community support, providing opportunities for education and participation. These are experiences open to everyone.

Q: Why are we bringing an airplane to the playa?
We incubate bold, visionary projects that inspire the world to dream big.
Our projects don’t fit into boxes. They rely on radical collaboration and community support. They provide opportunities for education and participation. They are experiences open to everyone.
If we dream big, we can make the impossible possible.
Q: Is access to the airplane exclusive in any way, or open to everyone?
Access to the plane is open to everyone and we do not discriminate on any grounds. It might seem like there is space on the plane for more people, but for safety reasons we have to limit the numbers to less than 175. The size of the car means that we do need a team of 12 hosting at any time to ensure the safety of everyone who visits our plane. If we do not have our full crew, we reduce the numbers on the plane even more.
Our goal is for the plane to be open about 8 - 10 hours each day during Burning Man. We do ask that guests respect our closing times, which allow us to rest, perform maintenance and have a bit of a Burning Man experience too.
Just like other mutant vehicles on the playa, our camp members don’t have to wait in line and enter and exit the plane as needed. If you see people coming and going at the head of the line, please assume they are a) camp members or b) performers. We do NOT allow VIPs, influencers, or “beautiful” people ahead of others.
Q: I heard the airplane was left on the playa after Burning Man last year. What happened?
The plane was not left on the playa after Burning Man last year. The land where we are storing the plane had not been surveyed since 1873 so the exact boundaries needed to be confirmed. The plane was temporarily parked on the playa near the private land, and once the survey was updated the plane was moved to where it has lived for the last 11 months.

::::: TICKETING POLICY :::::
All events are 21+. Valid ID is required for entry. We can only guarantee the validity of your ticket if purchased directly from Eventbrite or Resident Advisor. Any tickets purchased second-hard or via third party vendors cannot be validated or accommodated in the event of an issue (fake or duplicate tickets).
