Description
You bond with people you sing with; let us gather. We sing music that is old, or seems like it could be, or undoubtedly one day will be. The stuff is lovingly curated, pre-selected, and laid out in advance. The point is: songs a group can sing as one - and sing well. These are all printed up for everyone's convenience in a custom booklet. The leaders lead, but all take breaks ever so often to re-load our cups. Then more singin – and we do it a cappella. Mostly. Or with light touches on acoustic-y instruments. The goal is a public, night-time croon in the manner of better pubs of London, Belfast, or Dublin.
Beer & Hymns has had many large events since formalizing in Nov 2013, first at Mad Donna's in East Nashville. We have enjoyed media coverage in The Tennessean, NewsChannel 5, Fox 17, USA Today, and a variety of private publications.
The founder and leader is Nashvillian Geoff Little, who relies on world class friends and super helpful partners for these events -- certainly including Black Abbey's Carl Meier, Mercy Lounge's John Bruton, and others. The website is www.beerhymns.com and the Facebook group is Beer & Hymn Singing Nashville.
All who come in peace are welcome.
