Description
Launched in 2005 at Joe’s Pub in New York City, CMA Songwriters Series has been exposing fans across the country and the globe to the artisans who, through their craft, pen hits that touch the lives of millions of music fans. CMA Songwriters Series has presented nearly 120 shows in 18 cities, including Boston, Belfast, Chicago, Dublin, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Paris, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. at the renowned Library of Congress and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
CMA Songwriters Series kicked off the 2017 season with a sold-out show at C2C: Country to Country Festival in London featuring Kristian Bush, Mac McAnally, Maren Morris, Liz Rose, and Drake White. Other performance locations this year include Austin, Texas during the SXSW Music Festival and Nashville at the CMA Theater.
The series has featured nearly 200 of music’s most gifted storytellers who collectively have 100 CMA Song of the Year nominations.
Additional artists that have been part of the Series include Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Randy Houser, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, the cast of “Nashville,” Darius Rucker, Steven Tyler, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Young, as well as Country Music Hall of Fame members Bill Anderson, Bobby Bare, Ronnie Milsap, and Don Schlitz.
CMA has partnered with Public Television’s critically-acclaimed live music series “Front and Center” since 2014, presenting a dozen CMA Songwriters Series episodes of the concert program. Artists who have performed on these special presentations include Bentley, Brandy Clark, Ronnie Dunn, Eldredge, Sara Evans, Hunter Hayes, Charles Kelley, Jaren Johnston, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Moore, Jennifer Nettles, Eric Paslay, Rucker, Tyler, and Charlie Worsham.
