DJ IRENE
The dance music world is a world of escapism. People come out to dance for many reasons. Some want to forget the dramas that wear on their souls. Others want to feel a little more glamorous than they normally do.
DJ Irene has been called “America’s most loved DJ.” She has seen drama, has fought chemical addiction and personal demons, and has experienced homelessness. DJ Irene has seen the power of escaping reality, and she did it with flair.
When she talks about overcoming obstacles, Irene says, “You’ve got to be fearless to get through this life. Even if you mess up, you’ll have the chance to do it better.” She is a survivor, a character with an off-the-beaten-path lifestyle that has surpassed all obstacles and helped create the new American Dream for the next generation.
DJ Irene’s cult following began in in Hollywood, California at mega club Arena and at Circus. This is where Irene worked through rough times by expressing herself through the music she played. The crowds felt DJ Irene’s emotional connection. Week after week, for fifteen years, Arena was at capacity (6000 people) every Friday night where fans waited in line to see resident dj, DJ Irene. Arena and Circus will always remain a special place in her heart.
Dj Irene has produced a total of eighteen mixed CD albums. She’s the top selling American Female DJ in the United States according to Nielsen SoundScan. Dj Irene reached # 13 in BPM Magazine’s top DJ list, and placed at # 126 on Dj Mag’s list. The following year she climbed up to 101 on Dj Mag.
Irene has remixed songs for Grammy Award Winner Lady Gaga, Grammy Award Winner Madonna, Taryn Manning (Orange is The New Black), Erika Jayne (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), and Smash Mouth to name a few. As a producer, she has released over fifty Original Electronic Dance Music Songs including her single she co-wrote with Chris Cox and Thea Austin (PUSAKA) “You’re the Worst Thing For Me”, which won the Winter Music Conference Best Underground 12” Dance Record of The Year Award.
