Event DetailsIf you do it right, electronic music can take you all around the world. Seattle's Must Die! seems to be doing it very right. In the beginning, all the way back in ye olde 2011, Must Die! (AKA Houston-born Lee Bates) made his home with the waning but always evolving Dim Mak records. He's created electro bangers for Skrillex's OWSLA label, as well as Firepower Records and Never Say Die Records. Known for his quirky (bordering on gritty) bass-filled jams, Must Die! makes EDM enthusiasts come to life on the dance floor. It's the kind of electronic music that doesn't fall prey to the usual, but instead keeps you bopping and smiling at the same time as you wait for that next unexpected beat to drop. Expect loose, acid-dream remixes along with Must Die! 's originals like the always crowd pleasing Gem Shards.Twelve seems like an awfully young age to start honing your craft as a DJ and producer, but Germany's Infekt proves it can be done. Only slightly over the legal US drinking age now, Infekt has been working hard to make his name synonymous with future dub. Minimal, striking, dark, and above all interesting, Infekt breaks away from common EDM tropes all while maintaining a vegan, straight-edge lifestyle. To the unassuming, bespectacled Infekt, dubstep and electronic music is more than just repeating beats and dropping in a nostalgic sample at just the right moment. It's hard to believe this guy can mix in front of a huge crowd with the best of the veteran DJs - there's a certain look and persona and Infekt seems to buck the trend hard. His riddim borders the darker energies that bubble below the surface of many electronic artists. Youth is the time to stick to your guns, and Infekt is doing just that.
