Description
Todd Edwards is a Grammy Award winning, pioneering producer with a highly impressive music career spanning over two decades. Some of Edwards most acclaimed work is with Daft Punk who he co-produced, co-wrote, and performed vocals for on their song “Face to Face” from the album Discovery. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Club chart in 2004. Edwards worked again with Daft Punk co-writing, co-producing and contributing vocals to the song, "Fragments of Time" off of their 2013 album ‘Random Access Memories’ for which he won a Grammy.
Credited as one of the godfathers of UK garage, his four-to-the-floor beats have earned him a passionate following. In addition to his own legendary productions, Edwards has remixed Phoenix, Justice, Matthew Dear, Hot Chip, Spank Rock, Paloma Faith, Jonas Blue and Alan Walker, to name but a few. On 8th December 2017, Todd Edwards released the first single ‘Catch My Breath’ from his brand new EP ‘Integrate.’ This is released on his own label ‘Impératrice Music’ that he set up for releasing his own music and that of other like-minded artists. The first single was premiered by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and has gained international support. The second single is a collaboration with UK artist Billon entitled 'Is It Wrong.' In November 2017, Edwards collaborated with Golf Clap on the track ‘Come Together’ which Mixmag premiered.
2018, will see Edwards re-release a remastered version of his iconic ‘Odyssey’ album for which was a pivotal time in his career, with each track telling a story, this album provides a better understanding to the thought process behind Edwards’ intricate productions. Edwards also remixed Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra's track 'Sing It Back' released in February 2018 and Mella Dee's 'Techno Disco Tool' for Warner records.
As far as shows go, Todd Edwards has played every corner of the globe, alongside playing numerous Boiler Room sets. Touching down more recently at The O2 Greenwich for a Boy Better Know event and MoMA PS1 New York City for their summer live series alongside his good friend, DJ EZ.
With a magnitude of success in music, this humble multi-talented artist can be heard singing on his own productions as much as producing these Grammy Award winning tracks. His live performances will often see Edwards pick up the mic to sing and perform those seminal tracks.
